ITC Berkely Oldstyle derives its name from the University of California Press, located in Bekeley, California. In 1938 Frederic Goudy created what was, in his eyes, one of his most successful typeface designes. ITC Berkley Oldstyle is characterized by its calligraphic weight stress, subtlety of line, and classic x-height which when combined, make ITC Berkely Oldstyle bothinviting and easy to read.
