Printing Historical Society, St Bride Institute, London. 1967. 8vo. 44 pp. followed by 64 unpaginated pages with a facsimile of Vincent Figgins’s proof book from 1815, printed on the recto only. The type proof plate, in facsimile, from 1801 bound and fold-out. Green buckram binding with gilt spine lettering, spine is faded.
Figgins’s type proof plate is a great rarity with only one copy known, the proof book there are seven known copies. of. The 1815 proof book is also interesting for its ’Fat Faces’ and the first known cut ’Slab Serif’, later known as Egyptian.
